It’s All Perfect, Even Now … An Alt View of Losing Your Job

Change is happening and for many of us, it’s extremely frightening.

Over 500,000 people lost their jobs in November of 2008, bringing the total for the year to near 2 million jobs lost.

And, it’s all perfect.

How can that be?

Because what emerges from it will be absolutely what we need for to continue our growth and evolution.

You see, so many spend their life relentlessly wondering what’s my purpose, when the answer always is the same … your top purpose/OUR top purpose is to evolve.

And what’s happening right now is the perfect invitation and opportunity to do just that.

If you’ve lost your job, you have the most wonderful opportunity to discover who you are without that identification.

Consider the possibility that your job was blocking you from growing.  Perhaps you had stagnated.  Life as too comfortable and you had entered what Rev. Michael would call the world of “stagnation.”

Well, you aren’t stuck anymore.  You never would have chosen to make this leap on your own, but here you are.

The Universe has made the leap for you and you can either resist it with all your might or you can lean into it.  Accept your new reality. Make the best of it.  And, stay open to the possibility that you are now available to take your life to a whole new level.  One you’ve dreamed about, but thought was too risky to go for.

Now is the time to go for it.  You’ve got everything to gain.

Great article and so on the money. Sometimes the experiences of life that seem so bad for us are often little nudges in directions that will ultimately lead to greater successes. Around the time of our seeming set backs it is always difficult to see this truth, but looking back, there are so many instances in life where we can say, “Had that ‘bad’ thing not happened, I would never have received this!” I use the word ‘seeming’ because most of the set backs we experience in life are just a seeming, if not all.

I have an interesting story on how I came to think about this subject. Once, over 20 years ago, I was driving on a highway late at night in a hurry to get to my destination. I was stuck behind 5 banked up cars, all driving at the speed limit – but i was wanting to drive faster – to speed – to get where I wanted to go quickly. I was ranting and raving and getting angry, when suddenly my car tyre blew out and I was forced to pull over.

It was raining and needless to say I wasn’t happy at all. So cursing the whole time, I changed the tyre, my attention the whole time on how much time the blow out had cost me. Finally, dripping wet, I jumped back in the drivers seat and took off.

Not far up the road was a bend, and when I drove around it, a sight shocked me – all 5 cars were in a major accident on the highway. I had been right behind all of them, and the only reason I too wasn’t in the accident and possibly killed was thanks to the tyre blowout.

I drove at the speed limit the rest of the way to my destination, the whole time learning a valuable lesson: what seems like a set back at the time, is often in your long term best interests.

    Great article.

It’s so nice to read your post at this moment for me– and I know I’m not alone on this, as you mentioned 500,000 others. I guess too many things also factor in, like the holiday season makes it more depressing. But you are right, I ought to find the real me. I know it’s also one of the reasons why I made the joblessnow blog, aside from venting out.

I love this optimistic view of the world we are finding ourselves in today. Fantastic. I stumbled on your blog and love it. I am also a momprenuer (what a super cool word) and Courageous President of Brains on Fire. My favorite saying. Jump and the net will appear!

Wow! What an encouraging post! I recently returned to school after several “doors” in life were closed, so I can certainly relate. This is a great outlook to have about life’s unwanted changes. 🙂

Absolutely amazing! I wish I had read this back in December.

I just realized, everything I have been going through for the past 1 month and everything I have been trying to do hasn’t been a waste. I lost my job and still looking but during this time I have pursued every little dream and passion of mine. I just finished 2 children book (3-7 yr group) , got myself an audition call (no pay) and planning on women clothing line.

This is the time one can’t give up. It is important for everyone to focus and try something that has been locked up in the past years.

    Thank you Alexis.
